| Giftson & Banyan Baum / Tree, Heritage Madurai |
Um 7 Uhr
heute Morgen traf ich mich mit Giftson beim 300 Jahre alten Banyan Baum zum
Yoga... was der mächtige Baum wohl schon alles (mit)erlebt hat?! Er strömte
grosse Ruhe und Frieden aus und wir nahmen diese per Atemübungen bewusst auf...
Es ist ein schönes Gefühl sich mit dem riesigen Pflanzennetzwerk verbunden zu
fühlen - so fühlt man sich als Teil der Natur... : ))
At 7 am this morning I met with Giftson at the 300 year old Banyan tree for yoga... I wondered what the mighty tree had all experienced?! It exuded a lot of peace and tranquillity and we consciously inhaled it via out breathing exercises... It is a nice feeling to feel connected with the huge plant network – like this you feel as part of nature... : ))

Nach einem
sehr ausgiebigen Frühstück im Heritage Madurai mit dem feinsten, grössten und
vielfältigsten Frühstücksbuffet meiner Reise durch Südindien (hier hat es
alles, sogar eine Kaffeemaschine für Espresso!) machten wir uns um 11 Uhr auf
den Weg. Heute ging es 270 km weiter Richtung Norden. Unterwegs erzählte
mir Manju, dass auch das Heritage Madurai ab heute geschlossen ist... wie viele
andere Unterkünfte auch... so müssen wir momentan unsere Route ständig
ändern...
Ich
verstehe die Panik der Menschen echt nicht! Die macht doch alles nur noch
schlimmer!!! - Ich möchte an dieser Stelle unbedingt nochmals betonen: Gemäss
Statistiken sterben nicht mal 10% am Coronavirus... 80% unseres Planeten ist
überbevölkert und wir zerstören ihn... Der Virus wird sich seinen Teil holen,
mit Panik noch viel mehr - so oder so! Ich denke es geht primär darum das
Grosseganze zu sehen und uns darüber bewusst zu sein den Virus (bzw. Tod) zu akzeptieren
aber keiner Panik zu verfallen und sich nicht darauf konzentrieren - das hilft
niemandem!!! Ich werde mich weiterhin aufs Positive und Schöne konzentrieren!
After a very extensive breakfast at the Heritage Madurai with the finest, largest and most varied breakfast buffet during my trip through South India (there is everything, even a coffee machine for espresso!) we took the road at 11 am. Today we had 270 km direction north ahead. Manju told me on the way that the Heritage Madurai is closed from today... like many other accommodations... so we have to change our route constantly...
I really don't understand people's panic! It only makes everything worse!!! – Incidentally I want to emphasize once again: According to statistics, not even 10% die from the corona virus... 80% of our planet is overpopulated and we destroy it... The virus will get its share, with panic much more – one way or another! I think it's primarily about seeing the big picture and being aware and conscious that we have to accept the virus (resp. death) but not panicking and focussing on it - it doesn't help anyone!!! I will continue to focus on the positive and beautiful!

Nach
einem herrlichen Nickerchen auf dem Rücksitz ging es die letzten 30 km nach
Coonoor auf einer Passstrasse. Viele Äffchen erhofften einen Leckerbissen zu
ergattern, den Leute aus ihrem Autofenster werfen. Plastik ist hier verbannt
und verboten - deshalb haben wir in Srirangam Thermosflaschen gekauft... Aber
darum schienen die Sicherheitsleute sich am wenigsten zu scheren, dafür wurde
unser Auto x-mal desinfiziert! : )
After a wonderful nap on the back seat, we drove the last 30 km to Coonoor on a pass road. Many monkeys hoped to get a treat which people throw out of their car windows. Plastic is banned and prohibited here - that's why we bought thermos in Srirangam... But the security guards seemed the least to care about, on the other hand our car was disinfected x times! : )

Um
17:30 Uhr kamen wir im Teanest in Coonoor auf einer Höhe von 1850 m an.
Die Nilgiri Hills (blaue Berge) sind von Teegärten bewachsen und es ist
bedeutend kühler: 25 Grad! Was aber weniger toll war, ist die Begrüssung mit
Mundmasken und die frohe Botschaft, dass das Hotel ab morgen ebenfalls
geschlossen ist... Ich hatte hier im Teanest 2 Nächte gebucht und bezahlt. Nun
werden aber alle Reisenden an denselben Ort geschickt - wenn das kein
Infektionsherd ist!? : (( Ich sagte Manju, dass wir das auf keinen Fall tun
sondern Richtung Norden (Goa) fahren werden! Manju tauschte sich wie immer mit
seinen Bas & Das Tourism Kollegen aus und fand raus, dass sich im Mudumalai
Tiger Reserve & National Park an der Grenze Tamil Nadu-Karnataka einige in
einem Homestay aufhalten, wo wir morgen wenigstens ein Zimmer kriegen würden...
At 5:30 pm we arrived at the Teanest in Coonoor at an altitude of 1850 m. The Nilgiri Hills (blue mountains) are overgrown with tea gardens and it is significantly cooler: 25 centigrade! But what was less great wais the greeting with mouth masks and the good news that the hotel will also be closed from tomorrow... I had booked and paid for 2 nights here at the Teanest. But now all travellers are sent to the same place - if that is not a source for infection!? : (( I told Manju that we will definitely not go there, but will head north (Goa)! As usual Manju exchanged news with his Bas & Das Tourism colleagues and found out that in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve & National Park on the border of Tamil Nadu-Karnataka there were some people staying in a homestay, where we would at least get a room tomorrow...

Um 18 Uhr
setzte ich mich zum Abendessen ins Hotelrestaurant, bestellte mir etwas
Leckeres und genehmigte mir einen Schuss Rum aus meiner Notfallflasche (immer
noch aus Goa) - wie selig schlief ich danach unter meinem dicken Duvet ein! : )

At 6 pm I went for
dinner at the hotel restaurant, ordered a delicious meal and took a shot of rum
of my emergency bottle (still from Goa) - how blissfully I fell asleep under my
thick duvet afterwards! : )
