Nach
unserem letzten gemeinsamen Frühstück im Tanto Far Beach Retreat war Packen
angesagt und Weiterziehen... für Radhika hiess es zurück nach Chennai und für
mich weiter nach Thanjavur... Kurz nach 9 Uhr holte Manju, der in der Stadt
logiert hatte, uns ab. Wir luden unser Gepäck ein und Radhika in der
Bushaltestelle in Pondicherry aus. Alle 10 Minuten ging ein Bus nach Chennai
und es galt Abschied zu nehmen. : (
After our last breakfast together at the Tanto Far Beach Retreat, packing and moving on was announced... for Radhika it meant back to Chennai and for me continuing to Thanjavur... Shortly after 9:00 am Manju, who had stayed in the city, picked us up. We loaded our luggage and then dropped Radhika off at the bus stop in Pondicherry. There is a bus to Chennai every 10 minutes and we had to say goodbye. : (

Nun
richtete ich es mir erst mal auf dem Hintersitz zum Arbeiten und Schlafen
ein... ich hatte immer noch viel nachzubereiten für meinen Blog und
vorzubereiten für unsere nächsten Stopps. 2 Stunden später erreichten wir
Chidambaram, wo ich den grössten Shiva (Herr des Welttanzes) Tempel Indiens
besuchte. Das goldene Dach des um 1200 gebauten Tempels umfasst 21600 Kacheln,
was so viele Atemzüge eines Menschen pro Tag sind... Na ja, ein weiterer
Tempel, die können mich nicht wirklich beeindrucken, denn ich bin überhaupt
kein Fan von Religionen - deren Philosophien aber schon! Heute ist alles zu
sehr vermenschlicht und materialisiert...
Now I settled myself up in the back seat to work and sleep... I still had a lot to catch up for my blog and prepare for our next stops. Two hours later we reached Chidambaram, where I visited the largest Shiva (Lord of the world dance) temple in India. The golden roof of the temple built around 1200 comprises 21600 tiles, which is as many breaths a person takes each day... Well, another temple, they cannot really impress me, because I am not a fan of religions at all - but inherently of their philosophies! Today everything is too humanized and materialized...

Als jetzt
noch 2 weitere Tempel auf dem Programm standen, schob ich die Krise und der
äusserst flexible Manju ging sofort darauf ein, Praveens Tipp: eine
Mangroventour in Pichavaram - eine Erholungspause in der Natur! Es war so entspannend
und inspirierend, dass wir Lust auf frischen Fisch bekamen. Bei Malarkodi &
Velmurugan im Killai fanden wir, was wir suchten - mmmhhhhh!
When two more temples were on the programme, I came to a head and the extremely flexible Manju immediately agreed to take on Praveen's tip: a mangrove tour in Pichavaram - a break in nature! It was so relaxing and inspiring that we felt like having fresh fish thereafter. At Malarkodi & Velmurugan home stay in Killai we found what we were looking for - mmmhhhhh!

Nun war
ich wieder aufgetankt und bereit noch 2 Tempelanlagen zu besuchen... ;
) Um 16:30 Uhr trafen wir in Gangaikonda Cholapuram ein: Die Temperaturen
waren einigermassen erträglich und der Brihadiswara Tempel (UNESCO
Kulturwelterbe erbaut um 1000) strahlte in den goldenen Stunden (vor und
nach dem Sonnenuntetgang). Eine Stunde später stattete ich dem Thirumigu
Airavateswarar Tempel in Darasuram eine Stippvisite ab - auch er war nicht mit
Menschen überfüllt!
Now I felt recovered and ready to visit 2 more temples... ; ) At 4:30 pm we arrived in Gangaikonda Cholapuram: The temperatures were tolerable and the Brihadiswara Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site built around 1000) shone in the golden hours (before and after sunset). An hour later, I paid a flying visit to the Thirumigu Airavateswarar Temple in Darasuram - also here it wasn't crowded with people!

Um 19
Uhr, nach total 240 km heute, fuhren wir im Ideal River View Resort vor,
etwas ausserhalb von Thanjavur. Hier hatte ich für 2 Nächte gebucht und erhielt
einen grossartigen Empfang und ein ebensolches Zimmer!!! : ))

At 7 pm after a total
of 240 km today, we drove up to the Ideal River View Resort, just outside of Thanjavur.
I had booked here for 2 nights and received a great reception and just the same
room!!! : ))
