Entspannt
und seit langem wieder richtig lange geschlafen habe ich im Green Hills inmitten
des Mudumalai Nationalparkes: bis 9 Uhr! : ) Als ich um 10 Uhr
zum Frühstück ging, erwartete mich eine weitere schlechte Nachricht: Auch das
Green Hills muss heute schliessen... und es wird kontrolliert! : ( - Erst recht
liess ich mir nun die Porottas schmecken, die mir Santos extra besorgt hatte! :
)
Danach
war Hotelsuche angekündigt... Manju riet mir nach Mysore zu fahren, die
nächstgrössere Stadt, denn dort sei die grösste Chance ein Hotel zu finden…
zudem ist sein Auto im Bundesstaat Karnataka registriert... Es war echt mühsam:
Entweder waren die Hotels bereits geschlossen, nahmen keine Ausländer auf oder
benötigten einen Gesundheitsausweis... das Letzte ist vielleicht gar nicht die
schlechteste Idee!?
I slept very relaxed and a lot at the Green Hills in midst of the Mudumalai National Park: until 9 am! : ) When I went for breakfast at 10 am, more bad news was awaiting me: Also the Green Hills has to close today... and it will be checked! : ( - Especially now I enjoyed the porottas, which Santos had bought especially for me this morning! : )
Thereafter search of a hotel was announced... Manju advised me to go to Mysore, the next largest city, because there was the greatest chance of finding a hotel and his car is registered in the state of Karnataka... It was really tedious: Either the hotels were already closed, did not accept foreigners or needed a health certificate... the last may not be the worst idea!?

Kurz vor
13 Uhr verliessen wir unsere äusserst sympathischen Gastgeber des Green Hill
und begaben uns auf die 100 km nach Mysore. Bald schon passierten wir die
Grenze zum Bundesstaat Karnataka und es ging nochmals durch ein Stück des Mudumalai
Tiger Reserve & National Park. Nur war ich so beschäftigt mit
der Hotelsuche, dass ich keine Zeit hatte Ausschau zu halten - ich fühlte
mich wie auf der Flucht! : (
Shortly before 1 pm we left our extremely pleasant hosts of the Green Hill and took the 100 km to Mysore. Soon we passed the border to the state of Karnataka and we drove through another piece of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve & National Park. Only I was so busy looking for a hotel that I had no time to keep watch - I felt like I was on the run! : (

Um 15
Uhr nach total 100 km heute erreichten wir Mysore und suchten gleich ein
Krankenhaus zwecks Gesundheitsausweis auf, aber das machen die gar
nicht! So liess ich meine Intuition uns zum Royal Orchid Metropole in die Stadt
führen - und Bingo: Volltreffer! : ) Hier stimmt einfach alles um einem das
Sein in einer solch chaotischen Zeit zu beflügeln: Der Manager und das Personal
sind super lieb, das Heritage ist ein Augenschmaus, das grosszügige Zimmer ausgestattet
mit antiken Möbeln und grosser schattiger Terrasse ist einfach nur fantastisch
und das Essen hervorragend! : ))
We reached Mysore at 3 pm after a total of 100 km today and went straight to a hospital for a health certificate, but they don't do that! So I let my intuition lead us to the Royal Orchid Metropole in the city - and bingo: a real treat! : ) Everything is just perfect here to inspire in such a chaotic time: The manager and the staff are super nice, the Heritage is a treat for the eyes, the spacious room with antique furniture and a large shaded terrace just fantastic and the food excellent ! : ))

Beim
Abendessen unter freiem Himmel in wunderschönem Ambiente gelang es meiner
Tochter in der Schweiz endlich Oman Air zu erreichen - wir hatten es heute
mehrmals vergeblich versucht... Ich überliess ihr die Entscheidung, da ich zu
sehr befangen bin hier in Indien zu bleiben... obschon es immer schwieriger ist
eine Unterkunft zu finden! Einige Minuten später erhielt ich von Oman Air das
neue elektronisch Flugticket für den kommenden Montag (23.3.) früh am Morgen
via Muskat zurück in die Schweiz...

Am Freitag
genoss ich meine Zeit im herrlichen Royal Orchid Metropole. Was ich besonders
mag ist ein Frühstück a la carte (hier inkl. echten Espresso!) - auch
diesbezüglich erhält das Hotel die Höchstpunktzahl! ; )
Friday I enjoyed my time in the magnificent Royal Orchid Metropole. What I particularly like is an a la carte breakfast (here including real espresso!) - the hotel also receives the highest number of points in this respect! ; )

Nachdem
ich mich mental darauf vorbereitet hatte in 3 Tagen nach Hause zu
fliegen, war ich bereit das vielgerühmte Mysore für mich zu entdecken und
machte eine Stadttour mit Manju zum Amba Vilas Palace (auch bei Nacht), Besuch
in Räucherkerzen und Öl- sowie Seidegeschäfte und einen Bummel durch den
grossartige Devaraja Markt. : ))

After I had mentally prepared myself to fly home
in 3 days, I was ready to discover the much-praised Mysore for myself and went
on a city tour with Manju to the Amba Vilas Palace (also at night), visit at
incense candles and oil and silk shops and a stroll through the glorious Devaraja
market. : ))
