Wie bereits erwähnt, herrscht seit dem 22. März in Indien Ausgangssperre. Alles ist lahm gelegt: Kein Geschäft, kein Restaurant ist offen und es gibt keinerlei Transportmittel. In den letzten Tagen hatte es morgens und abends schon bedeutend mehr Inder am Strand als in den vorherigen Tagen. Die verschärfte Massnahme und all die negativen Schlagzeilen der Medien flössen den Indern grosse Angst ein – sie fürchten die Polizei, die mit Stöcken auf Personen einschlagen welche sich ausserhalb des Hauses aufhalten, mehr als den Virus selber… Ja, Angst einflössen - das konnten die Menschen schon immer! : ( Aber der Drang zum Auslauf und frische Luft liess sie trotzdem an den Strand kommen und sich etwas zu bewegen. Auch ich liess mir meine Positivität von nichts stoppen und nährte sie indem ich mir und der Natur Gutes tat… so ging ich meine gewohnte Strecke (4 x den Strand hin und her) barfuss im Bikini joggen und schwimmen – das eindringlichen Trillern der Lifeguards ignorierte ich einfach.

As already mentioned, there has been a curfew in India since March 22nd. Everything is paralyzed: There is no shop nor restaurant open as well as no means of transport. In the past few days there had been significantly more Indians on the beach in the mornings and evenings than in the previous days. The tightened measure and all the negative headlines of the media are terrifying the Indians - they fear the police, who use sticks to hit people who are outside their home, more than the virus itself... Yes, instilling fear – that’s what people always were capable of! : ( But the urge to physical exercise and fresh air still let them come to the beach and move a little. I also did not let anything stop my positivity and nourished it by doing something good for myself and nature... I went for my usual route (4 x the beach back and forth) jogging and swimming barefoot in my bikini - I simply ignored the haunting trill of the lifeguards.

Wie immer genoss ich morgens meinen Espresso, Tee und die frischen Naan, Chapati, Roti oder Parathas von Amar. Obst und Gemüse war immer noch nicht zu haben, Antonio, der Besitzer des Sarita’s Guesthouse, brachte uns aber Papayas aus seinem Garten! : ) Letzte Nacht wurde angekündigt, dass einige Lebensmittelgeschäfte heute öffnen würden… Und so war es auch: Ein kleines Geschäft war wieder offen, hatte aber fast nichts (mehr)… Staatlich bewilligte Hauslieferdienste waren bereits eingerichtet worden und fahrende Verkäufer versuchten ihre Ware an der Haustür zu verkaufen… den Schwarzmarkt bekämpfte ich indem ich den Verkäufern wie den Kunden klar machte, dass es fies und unverschämt ist diese Situation auszunutzen statt einander zu helfen: Es zeigt den wahren Charakter und es werden andere Zeiten kommen! : (  

As always, I enjoyed my espresso, tea and the fresh Naan, Chapati, Roti or Parathas from Amar in the morning. Fruit and vegetables still were not available, but Antonio, the owner of Sarita’s Guesthouse, brought us papayas from his garden! : ) Last night it was announced that some grocery stores would open today… And that’s how it was: A small shop reopened, but had almost nothing (anymore)... State-approved home delivery services had already been set up and travelling sellers tried to sell their goods at the front door... I controverted the black market by bringing to mind to sellers and buyers that it is nasty and insolent to take advantage of this situation instead of helping each other: It shows the true character and there will be other times soon! : (

Auch die Krähen mussten sich einer neuen Strategie bedienen um an Nahrung zu kommen, so wurden sie noch frecher, kommen in die Häuser und Zimmer und stehlen, was ihnen essbar erscheint. Eine stahl mir ein Chapati vom Teller und mein Pack Kaffee, das in 2 Säcken im Zimmer eingepackt war! Was ich ebenfalls beobachten konnte ist, dass sich die Natur schon nach 1 Woche begann sich erholen… im Meer schwammen viele kleine Fische um mich herum und beknabberten mich neugierig… und es waren auffallend viele verschiedene Vogellaute zu hören – oder hatte der Lärm der vielen Menschen und des Verkehrs sie vorher einfach verschluckt (viele Flugzeuge starteten und landeten, Fahrzeuge machten vor allem mit dem ewigen Gehupe viel Lärm)?

Also the crows had to use a new strategy to get food, so they got even more courageous, came into the houses and rooms and stole whatever they thought is edible. One stole a chapati from my plate and my pack of coffee, which was packed in 2 bags in my room! What more I could observe is, that nature started to recover already after 1 week... in the ocean a lot of small fish swam around me and nibbled curiously... and there were a lot of different bird sounds to hear - or had the noise of the many people and the traffic absorbed it before (many planes had taken off and landed, vehicles had made a lot of noise, especially with the constant horning)?

Am Freitag wechselte ich in ein grösseres Zimmer mit Sitzecke, Kühlschrank und Badewanne… man weiss nie, wie lange ich hier festsitzen werde! : ) So  hatte ich auch das Bedürfnis etwas Nützliches zu tun… Da mir nichts mehr als die Natur am Herzen liegt, der Strand ohne die täglichen Aufräumer langsam mit Müll vollgeschwemmt wurde und ich bereits in Marokko und Barbados die Strände gesäubert hatte, war es naheliegend, dass ich auch hier am Bogmalo Beach mein kleines Projekt clean & clear startete… Statt nur Hausarrest zu verordnen und sich von den negative Medien Panik einflössen zu lassen, wäre es doch sinnvoll den Menschen eine gute Aufgabe zu geben: Im Kleinen bei sich zu beginnen, den Abfall ums Haus und überall im Ort zu räumen und Feedbacks (Fotos, Videos) zu sammeln um andere zu motivieren… Jeder Ort könnte der Schönste und Sauberste sein! : )

Jeden Tag beim Abfalleinsammeln war ich an der frischen Luft, erlebte etwas und fand so einiges… Die vielen Glasscherben waren erschreckend! Und ich fand extrem viele Schuhe! Aber auch einen Plastikbeutel voller mysteriösen arabischen Nachrichten, ein Seil um meine Wäsche aufzuhängen und neue Bekanntschaften. Fischer gaben mir sogar einen Pomfret ab, den Amar mir am Abend für mich Goan Style zubereitete. - Aufräumen macht richtig süchtig und zufrieden – schade, dass nicht mehr Leute dieses Gefühl erproben! Ich forderte die Lifeguards, die jetzt noch weniger zu tun haben als üblich, auf mir zu helfen. Die waren aber sehr arrogant und antworteten, dass bald die Strandaufräumer wieder kommen würden. – Es ist ja so einfach und irreführend, sich seinen Dreck von andern beseitigen zu lassen und die Verantwortung andern zuzuschieben! Aber das ist hier leider die Ansicht: Ich kann alles wegschmeissen wo ich gerade bin, morgen wird es gereinigt! Das Schlimmste ist, Kinder denken, dass das so normal ist! Es fehlt wie immer an Bewusstsein und Erziehung… : (( Zum Glück begegnete ich auch einigen, die verstanden wovon ich spreche: Wir müssen wieder Selbstverantwortung und Sorge zu uns und unserer Quelle Natur tragen!!! 

On Friday I changed to a larger room with a sitting area, fridge and bathtub... you never know how long I'll be stuck here! : ) I also felt the urge to do something useful... Since there is nothing nearer and dearer to me but nature, the beach was slowly washed up with garbage without the daily tidying up and I had already cleaned the beaches in Morocco and Barbados, it was obvious that I had to start my small project clean & clear also her on Bogmalo Beach... Instead of just decreeing house arrest and letting panic be spread by the negative media, it would make sense to give people an useful duty: Starting in the small picture with ourseles, clear waste in and around the house and then spread out... then collecting feedbacks (photos, videos) to motivate others... Every place could be the nicest and cleanest! : )

Every day when collecting garbage I was in the fresh air, experienced and found something special... The many broken glass pieces were terrifying! And I found a lot of shoes! But also a little plastic bag full of mysterious Arabic messages, a rope to hang up my laundry and new acquaintances. Fishermen gave me a pomfret, which Amar prepared Goan style for me in the evening. - Cleaning up is really addictive and satisfying - it's a shame that no more people try out this feeling! I asked the lifeguards, who now have even less to do than usual, to help me. But they were very arrogant and replied that the beach cleaners would be back soon. - It is so easy and misleading to let others remove your own filth and put the responsibility on others! But this is unfortunately the view here: I can throw everything away from where I am, tomorrow it will be cleaned! The worst thing is; kids think this is normal! As always there is a lack of awareness and education...: (( Fortunately I also met some people who understood what I am talking about: We have to regain responsibility and care for ourselves as well as our source nature!!!

Am Freitag Abend traf ich mich mit Angler und Angelo und wir machten uns den Felsen entlang auf die Spur der Leoparden. Die Einheimischen haben hier oben schon oft Leoparden gesichtet, ich hatte jedoch kein Glück sondern eher Pech, denn ich stürzte und brachte starke Schürfungen zurück… : (

On Friday evening I met Angler and Angelo and we set off along the rocks to track down leopards. The locals have often spotted leopards up here, but I was not lucky, rather unlucky, because I fell and brought back heavy abrasions... : (

Abends war ich meist einfach nur müde… Ich leistete Amar in der Küche Gesellschaft, guckte ihm über die Schulter und begab mich selber an den Herd. Meist genoss ich Jumbo Tiger Prawns und Crevetten mit dem, was noch im Kühlschrank war. : )

In the evening I was usually just tired... I kept Amar company in the kitchen, looked over his shoulder and made myself busy at the stove. I mostly enjoyed jumbo tiger prawns and prawns with what there still was in the fridge. : )
